Wise was elected as a rookie in the 17-18 season of the US Tour Saijia
 

On October 31st, Beijing time, NCAA Championship former champion Aaron Wise was voted by members to be the Rookie of the Year for the 2017-18 US Tour.

Members of the US Tour must play at least 15 Federal Cup tournaments in the 2017-18 season to qualify for election. The voting ended on October 1st.

In 2016, Aron Wise won the NCAA Championship individual and team championship for the University of Oregon. He was one of the three rookies to win the 2017-18 season, along with Austin Cook and Japan's Tomohiro Kohei. He defeated Austin Cook, Koheichi, Keith Mitchell, and Joaquin Niemann in the election.

A 22-year-old player from Las Vegas won his first victory on the US Tour at the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship, joining the ranks of Mackenzie Hughes and becoming the second player in history to win the Canadian Tour (during the US Tour certification era), Weber Net Tour, and US Tour. His victory is also the 500th victory that graduates of the Weber Network Tour have achieved on the US Tour.

As one of the eight rookies to qualify for the playoffs, Aaron Wise is the only player to make it to the season finale tour championship. He ranks 24th in the Federal Cup. During the 12 seasons of the Federal Cup, a total of 12 rookies made it to the Tour Championship, with 10 of them later elected as the Rookie of the Year.

Aaron Wise participated 29 times throughout the season and finished in the top ten four times, with highlights including victory in the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship and runner up in the Wells Fargo Bank Championship. In the playoffs, Aaron Wise tied for fifth place in the North American Trust Championship and also finished in two of the top 20.

A student from the University of Oregon is the first Pacific Twelve School League player since Tiger Woods in 1996 to receive the Best Newcomer of the Year award at the US Tour.

Aaron Wise will participate in the Holy Brotherhood Children's Hospital Open in his hometown this week. At TPC Samlin, he will face players such as Jordan Spice, Ricky Fowler, Bryson DeChambau, and Tony Finau.

Aaron Wise's previous rookie award winners include: Ritchie Fowler (2010), Jordan Spith (2013), Daniel Berger (2015), and Xander Schauffele (2017).
